Flood Watch issued May 16 at 11:51AM CDT until May 17 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of north and central Texas including the following counties, Bell, Bosque, Collin, Comanche, Coryell, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Falls, Freestone, Hamilton, Hill, Hood, Jack, Johnson, Kaufman, Lampasas, Limestone, McLennan, Mills, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, Wise, Anderson, Henderson, Leon, Van Zandt, Milam, and Robertson. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor-drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may become flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall totals of 1.5 to 3 inches, with isolated higher amounts up to 5 inches. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Special Weather Statement issued May 16 at 2:23PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX At 222 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Woodway to near Lott to near Rogers. Movement was east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Waco, Hewitt, Robinson, Woodway, Marlin, McGregor, Mart, Lorena, Bruceville-Eddy, Rosebud, Rogers, Riesel, Bremond, Lott, Golinda, Hallsburg, Lake Creek Lake, Chilton, Wilson, and Yarrelton. This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 311 and 331. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CDT for central Texas.
