Flood Watch issued May 16 at 12:27AM CDT until May 17 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Texas, including the following counties, Collin, Comanche, Dallas, Denton, Erath, Hamilton, Hood, Jack, Kaufman, Lampasas, Mills, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, Wise, and Van Zandt. * WHEN...From 7 AM CDT this morning through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor-drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may become flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall totals of 1.5 to 3 inches, with isolated higher amounts up to 5 inches. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Flash Flood Warning issued May 16 at 10:18AM CDT until May 16 at 12:15PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX At 1018 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Stephenville, Granbury, Pecan Plantation, Lipan, Bluff Dale, Morgan Mill, Oak Trail Shores, Squaw Creek Reservoir, Huckabay, DeCordova, Cresson, Tolar, Stockton Bend, Waples, Mambrino, Paluxy, Patillo, Lake Granbury, Selden and Acton. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
