If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Flood Watch issued May 18 at 5:36AM CDT until May 18 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Mobile AL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Alabama, including the following areas, Baldwin Central, Baldwin Coastal, Baldwin Inland, Conecuh, Covington, Escambia, Mobile Central, Mobile Coastal and Mobile Inland, northwest Florida, including the following areas, Escambia Coastal, Escambia Inland, Okaloosa Coastal, Okaloosa Inland, Santa Rosa Coastal and Santa Rosa Inland, and southeast Mississippi, including the following areas, George and Stone. * WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional heavy rainfall is expected to pass across the area through this afternoon. Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected. Southern Santa Rosa County in northwestern Florida... * Until 1000 AM CDT. * At 649 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have quickly fallen over some locations during the past hour and additional heavy rainfall is expected as thunderstorms move northeastward into the warned area from the Gulf. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
