Special Weather Statement issued May 17 at 4:48AM EDT by NWS Melbourne FL Surface observations, along with satellite imagery and local traffic cameras, indicate fog development across portions of Brevard, Indian River, and Saint Lucie counties this morning. Visibility of one mile or less at times may occur through sunrise, especially from Melbourne southward. Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution if encountering fog this morning. Slow down, increase following distance, and use low-beam headlights when driving through patchy, locally dense fog. Plan ahead for extra travel time to destinations. Visibility is forecast to improve by mid morning as fog dissipates.
