Flood Advisory issued May 17 at 10:31PM EDT until May 18 at 12:15AM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Franklin, Granville, Vance and Warren. * WHEN...Until 1215 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1031 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in Cedar Creek. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Cedar Creek is the most likely place to experience minor flooding. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Henderson, Oxford, Creedmoor, Warrenton, Butner, Norlina, Kittrell, Stem, Stovall, Middleburg, Dabney, South Henderson, Gillburg, Satterwhite Point Marina, Steele Creek Marina & Campground, Tungsten, Bullocksville, Kerr Lake, Drewry and Afton. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
