Special Weather Statement issued May 16 at 6:47PM CDT by NWS Midland/Odessa TX At 647 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles southeast of O'Donnell to Lenorah. Movement was east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Big Spring, Ackerly, Gail, Coahoma, Fluvanna, Sand Springs, J B Thomas Reservoir, Lenorah, Luther, Vincent, Randalls Corner, Cuthbert, Knapp, Knott, Vealmoor, and Big Spring McMahon-Wrinkle Airpark. This includes Interstate 20 between mile markers 174 and 204. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for western Texas.

Howard County in western Texas... * Until 745 PM CDT. * At 644 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Midland, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE...KMAF ASOS measured several wind gusts near 70 mph. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include...
