Flash Flood Warning issued May 16 at 1:21PM CDT until May 16 at 3:30PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX At 121 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is likely ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Rain rates have come down but additional rainfall of up to 1 inch is possible. Due to very saturated soils, it will not take much rain to cause flash flooding. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low lying areas. Waco, Robinson, Bellmead, Mexia, Lacy-Lakeview, Groesbeck, Teague, Fairfield, West, Mart, Beverly Hills, Wortham, Riesel, Coolidge, Hallsburg, Fort Parker State Park, Lake Mexia, Lake Limestone, Richland-Chambers Reservoir and Tradinghouse Creek Reservoir. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
